The equestrians at the Wellington Florida Equestrian Association have a special way of introducing themselves to the public.
They’ll walk up to you and start talking to you, and it’s like a personal introduction.
So, how do they do it?
Well, the association has developed a special brand of hand-made hand-held cameras and a new app that allows members to upload their footage and watch it on their smartphones.
It works like this: Members upload their videos to a video sharing site and, for every 10 minutes that they watch it, they’ll receive an e-card.
It’s a unique opportunity for members to show off their skills, and in turn, get a glimpse of the people that they’re working with.
“You get a look at the person, the enthusiasm, the energy, the desire to go out and be the best person they can be,” says Lisa Taylor, a member of the association.
“It’s a very different way of showing off the skills you’re trying to learn, which is very rewarding.”
The app is available in both English and Spanish, and can be downloaded for free at the association’s website.
Members also get access to the app for free to record their training and competitions.
The association has had over 1,000 members in its 30-year history.
They’ve also launched a new digital training channel called the Flourishing, in which members are able to track their progress, and to share their own footage and competitions on social media.
“We’re hoping to be the largest equestria in the country by the year 2030,” Taylor says.
Wellington Florges, the Wellington horse and carriage company, recently bought the Wellington Floridas horse and cabaret in Wellington.
The company’s owner, a veteran equestriker, is delighted to see his company’s image and image of the city being represented by the Wellington floridas.
“Wellington is a wonderful city, the weather is beautiful, there are lots of people, it’s the biggest city in New Zealand, so it’s very important to us to be represented in Wellington,” he says.
“We’re very excited to be a part of this.”
